A Message from the Rees Family
At Island Kids, we understand that choosing a preschool or childcare center for your child is a very difficult decision. We hope that our web site helps you to better understand the programs that we offer.
Island Kids is a family owned business that was started in 1999 because we wanted to provide the local community with the highest level of care and education possible.
As residents of the local community and the parents of four young children we truly understand the needs of parent in today’s society. We know that finding a school that is safe, nurturing and stimulating for your infant, toddler or preschool is a top priority for many families.
We are not absentee owners of our schools but rather are involved in each and every decision that is made regarding the schools. We are present daily at both locations in order to insure that the highest level of quality is being met at all times. It is not unusual to find us in the classrooms or out on the playground interacting with our students. We do what we do because we have a passion for early childhood education and because we love children!
Of course, to really know if a center is right for you and your child you should arrange for a visit. During this visit, we will be happy to give you a tour of our facilities and answer any questions you may have. We believe that the preschool years are an exciting time of growth and discovery. Our staff is here to help you and your child make the most of this very special time.
If you would like to schedule a visit to our schools, please call us at:

At Island Kids we provide a safe, developmentally appropriate environment for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. We strive to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment which promotes each child’s social/emotional, physical and cognitive development. Our goal is to support children’s desire to be life-long learners.
At Island Kids, we believe that early childhood care and education plays a vital role in a child’s future development. All of our programs are designed to be developmentally appropriate for each age group. Children spend their days taking part in developmentally appropriate hands-on activities that encourage exploration of the world around them. In order to provide quality care and education, we choose our teachers based on their educational background and their dedication to young children. We believe that professional development is very important. All Island Kids staff members are required to participate in ongoing training and continuing education opportunities.
